Today I am reviewing No. 7’s Beautifully Matte Foundation in the shade ‘Cool Vanilla’. Having been blessed with oily skin, I was very curious to try out this foundation and test it’s claims. This is a UK brand, however, I purchased this foundation from my local Target and I believe it is also sold in Walgreens. According to the Boots website:
“Achieve the appearance of flawless matte skin with a velvety soft finish and no powdery flatness. Oil free, this unique foundation containing fine oil-absorbing powders, minimizes the need for touch ups by controlling shine all day long. Developed to glide effortlessly onto the skin and instantly transform the appearance of your complexion. Blemishes and flaws are concealed and pores appear minimized, leaving you with even-toned skin that looks perfectly smooth and velvety soft all day. With SPF 15 to help protect against the ageing effects of the sun, Beautifully Matte foundation helps you to protect the future of your complexion as well as perfecting its appearance today. Non pore blocking and Hypo-Allergenic: Because all skin can have sensitive moments, all our foundation products are hypo-allergenic so they are kind to even the most sensitive skin.”
This foundation comes with a pump – which is always a huge bonus… when it actually works. The struggle was real to get this pump to finally release!
After just a few minutes, the foundation swatch dried to a complete matte but oxidized quite a bit!
I really loved applying this foundation with a beauty sponge, but have also tried to apply it with a foundation brush. I found that the sponge spread the foundation evenly on my face. The foundation dried quickly to a matte, so it is a little more difficult with a foundation brush if you don’t move fast. The coverage is beautiful and very velvety – as the claims stated! The finish blurred out my pores and fine lines, and gave my face somewhat of an airbrushed finish.
After wearing this foundation for 8 hours, I can say that it held up quite nicely. Granted, some of my natural shine did start to peak through toward the end of the 8 hours but was most definitely nothing worth blotting over. Even though this foundation was a bit expensive for a drugstore brand ($17.00), it is a foundation that I would not hesitate to repurchase in the future!
Have you tried No. 7 Beautifully Matte Foundation or the No. 7 brand? Leave me a comment below sharing your thoughts on the foundation or the No. 7 brand! Also, if you have any suggestions on what foundation I should try next, I am always up for the challenge!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and until next time…
Sincerely,
Lee.
