Boxycharm Unboxing: February Edition

The month of February always flies by but is somehow one of the most hectic months, well at least for me! But what an amazing month it was!

For those that are not already familiar, Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription service that cost $21.00 each month for 5 full size products. And what’s even better is that each month it is a guarantee you will receive a retail value for over $100.00 per box! This month’s theme is ‘Galaxy Glow’ and is keeping with the trends of duo-chrome shades and intense, colorful highlighters. If you are interested in seeing the previous boxes, click here to see my January post!

NAKED COSMETICS
Holographic Highlighter Palette
$39.99

“With six stunning holographic shades, this highlighting palette is essential for any makeup enthusiast. Each iridescent shade is perfect for highlighting and layering to transform any look into something enchanting”

I haven’t really followed the colorful highlighter trend, so I was initially bummed when I found out this came in my box this month. But, after swatching these shades, I can’t deny how smooth and creamy these highlighters are. I will say, the most “wearable” shades for my skin tone is the pink and yellow shades.

SERAPHINE BOTANICALS
Sugar + Lemon Moisturizing Lip Buffer
$24.00

“A blend of soft sugar crystals within a rich, nourishing salve base that gently exfoliates and bugs lips, leaving behind smoother skin with a touch of refreshing Lemon Zest scent. Made with Avocado, Apricot, and Jojoba oils as well as Shea & Cocoa Butter to help rejuvenate & hydrate dry lips”

There’s a reason why this lip scrub cost $24.00… it works miracles for dry, dull lips (& taste pretty good, too)!

CROWN PRO
Trio Brush Set
$29.00

“Use this 3pc Pro Brush Trio to contour your face to perfection! The small brush can be used to conceal imperfections and highlight underneath the eyes. The medium size brush can be used to sculpt the cheekbones and perimeter of the face. Finally, the large powder brush can be used to set everything in place”

I only used the medium sized brush so far and mainly used it for highlighting my cheekbones. All three of the brushes are so versatile in their function that you can pretty much use them however. I’ve never been disappointed by Crown brushes – they are so soft and are such a great quality, but… I just wish the names of the brushes were listed on the brush handles :\

VINTAGE COSMETICS
Smokey Eye Pencil
$21.00

“Jessica’s richly pigmented smokey eye pencil delivers intense jet-black definition! Creating pencil-point precision or smudgy, saturated color, the creamy-soft formula glides on lids without tugging or pulling”

I’m more of an automatic kinda-girl, and very rarely reach for the pencils but I think I will make an exception in this case. This eye pencil would be great to smoke out your lid before applying eyeshadow to intensify the look but could also be applied to the waterline too.

COVER FX
Shimmer Veil
$28.00

“These multi-use, shimmering crème colors are crease-proof enough for the boldest of eye looks and formulated with a weightless finish for a shimmering effect anywhere on the face. Suitable for all skin types”

This liquid eyeshadow is in the shade ‘Amethyst’ and is a shimmery, duo-chrome soft pink (perfect for Valentine’s Day). So far, I’ve worn it alone, on top of the black eyeliner, and as a subtle-look with taupe in the crease; though I am curious to see how it would wear on other areas of my face!

The overall total of everything in this month’s box: $142.98!!

As always, thanks for stopping by and until next time,

Sincerely,

Lee.
