Does anyone else love reading through “Empties” posts? I find it so interesting to see the product’s someone has fully used up and if they would repurchase and/or recommend. This is my first ‘Empties’ post, and hopefully there will be many more to come! Enjoy 🙂
Milani Make It Last Setting Spray – Spoiler alert. This is my 2nd time re-purchasing this item and for more reasons than just one. The first time I purchased this, I wasn’t fully able to put it to the test, therefore, I never truly paid attention to it’s lasting-power. Secondly, I re-purchased this setting spray due to the product being used up so quickly. I’m not sure if I am just using a lot, or if there is just not a lot of product in the bottle compared to other sprays, but it was no time before I needed to restock. I found this to be the case on both bottles!
Would I re-purchase? Ehh, probably not. I think I am coming to the conclusion that setting spray’s are kinda a gimmick (and I’m sure other’s will disagree) but it’s a step that I can do without. I don’t really see much of a difference in longevity with or without a setting spray, regardless of the type of spray. It’s a pass for me.
NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate – I actually love this brow pencil… just not in this shade! I made it work but it’s too warm-toned for my liking. The micro-size is perfect for my thin and sparse eyebrows and doesn’t make them come across as overdrawn or fake, like other eyebrow products tend to be for me.
Would I re-purchase? Heck yes… just in a much different, cooler shade.
Rimmel’s Kate Moss Lip Conditioning Balm – This balm is super waxy and very thick, which is nothing like my beloved Glossier Lip Balm. For drugstore, I would say it’s okay but is still nothing that knocks my socks off. It is however only $3.00 though, so it is definitely worth it to try it for yourself.
Would I re-purchase? Eh, no. There are plenty more fish in the sea.
Covergirl’s Outlast All-Day Concealer – I am surprise by the lack of hype or conversation surrounding this concealer! For about $9.00, this concealer gives a medium coverage and truly does last all day. I have worn it with and without foundation. My only dislike with this concealer is how much it oxidizes. It’s not pretty when you concealer is shades darker than your foundation.
Would I re-purchase? Probably not. I find myself reaching for other concealers in comparison to this one, that do the same thing just without oxidizing.
Covergirl’s Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in1 Foundation – Luckily, this foundation is a little different from it’s paired concealer! There was a good amount of coverage and found it to truly last all day, plus it did not oxidize. For my oily-skin, this foundation held up quite nicely throughout my long work days!
Would I re-purchase? Yes! But maybe this time I will pick up my winter shade and another for my summer shade, that way I can have it all year long 😉
Maybelline’s Superstay Better Skin Concealer – I found better results from the Better Skin Foundation than with the concealer. I didn’t see a huge difference in coverage, longevity, or smoothness. Half way through the day, my under eyes looked crepey and gross. I would be curious to see if this concealer played well on dry skin or mature skin, because it was awful on this oily-skin.
Would I re-purchase? What a waste of money, pass.
Milani’s Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment in Coconut – Let me first say, I completely understand the concept of this lip oil treatment and can appreciate a product like this being found in the drugstore. But… unfortunately, this lip treatment didn’t deeply moisturize or repair my dry lips, instead it did the complete opposite! Once the oils finally dried down on my lips, my lips became severely chapped. I found myself reaching back for this lip oil constantly throughout the day. As soon as I applied it, I had to re-apply it. So as you can imagine, this product did not last very long.
Would I re-purchase? HARD PASS. I will not be putting my lips through that again!
the Balm Cosmetics’ Mad Lash Black Mascara – I received this travel size in a ipsy bag a couple of months ago. I tried to wear this mascara alone and paired with other mascaras, but saw nothing spectacular. I will say, this mascara is pretty good for the bottom lashes. Since the wand is thinner and the bristles are more defined and separated, this mascara really helped to define each individual bottom lash.
Would I re-purchase? It’s really hard for me to reason with buying a mascara solely for the bottom lashes, especially when I have so many mascara’s that can do both! Pass.
Rimmel’s ScandalEyes Lycra Flex Mascara – I didn’t have very high expectations for this mascara mainly because I had never heard anyone talking about it. The formula is very wet when you first open the tube, so you may want to wait a week or two to allow the formula to dry a little. The wand is huge, which was pretty tricky when applying around my rather small eyes. Once you learn how to manage the wand, you see great results! It enhanced my lashes and thickened them up!
Would I re-purchase? Maybe. I think I will try out some of Rimmel’s other mascara’s and see how they compare!
Hope you all enjoyed my empties this month! Let me know what products you have used up and if you will be repurchasing them!
As always, thanks for stopping by and until next time…
Sincerely,
Lee.
