Not sure how the weather is for everyone else around the world, but here in the south, summer has made her early appearance & she’s making some harsh demands. The heat in the south is comparable to that of a wet sauna. Forget makeup most days, as it most likely will drip off your face the second you walk outside. And for my oily folks, bless your heart… You never stood a chance anyways.
To kick off summer right, I am reviewing a new-ish foundation that makes some pretty heavy promises. With this awful summer heat, I personally need a foundation that is going to be super matte and last throughout the entire day. I’m curious to see how this foundation compares to my Too Faced’s Peach Perfect Foundation, one of my all-time fav’s! Keep scrolling to read my thoughts and opinions on this product!
Claims:
“With a soft and suede-like finish, PRO.matte Foundation will have you covered and shine-free all day. Creamy, liquid formula provides smooth and buildable coverage for both day and night time wear. Minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for an even, soft focus effect. Paraben free formula with added vitamin E, B5 & sunflower oil.”
Price: This foundation retails for about $10.00, and is about an average price for the drugstore.
Shade Range: On L.A. Girl’s website, there are apparently only 14 shades to choose from. Honestly, there is not much of a selection, as most of the shades are catered to medium/tan skin tones. I chose the shade Bisque, mainly because my Ulta was fresh out of Beige, but turns out after a few minutes of oxidizing, Bisque was a decent match.
Packaging: The packaging of this foundation reminds me a lot of Nars’ All Day Luminous Foundation. The frosted glass and the matte cap make this foundation seem more expensive and luxurious than it truly is. This foundation also has a pump… and who doesn’t love a good quality pump?
Formula: The finish of this foundation is truly matte and dries quickly, so make sure to apply in sections and blend like crazy! The initial application is about a medium coverage, but can be easily made high coverage with another pump.
Longevity: This foundation last pretty well during my 9-5, but I wouldn’t say this foundation kept me completely matte throughout the day. My oils would peak through around the 2 to 3 pm mark, but wouldn’t get patchy or slip around my face. A little blotting action and a quick touch up of powder does the trick!
Overall, I love this foundation and continue to reach for it on a daily basis. It’s a great lightweight, matte foundation that last throughout my day.

As always, thank you for stopping by and until next time…
Sincerely,
Lee.
