“This palette features 8 highly opaque shades, reminiscent of the beauty and culture of Cuba. For a more intense application, refer to the shade names that feature a water droplet that can be used with a wet brush – the sun symbol, for application with a dry brush.”

First Impression: CEO/Founder, as well as a part of the Boxycharm team, Gabriela Trujillo, created this palette from inspiration of Cuba.  This palette is beautifully unique and great palette to kick-start the Alamar Cosmetics’ brand! The colors are intensely pigmented, which can be offsetting for those with a heavy hand. So just remember, a little goes a long way with these pigments. The shimmer shades can be applied wet to increase their intensity, but honestly, they are pretty intense by themselves. I have worn this palette twice, and have found the shades to last throughout the day (without a primer); the shimmer shades are especially long lasting, even if my eyelids become oily.

Monroe Silk Lashes

First Impression: While these false lashes are gorgeous and the packaging is incredibly adorable, I will be passing these lashes along to a family member or friend who will get more use out of them than I will. #NaturalLashes

First Impression: This product is solely responsible for my excitement this month. I have been debating for month’s whether or not to purchase this lotion, and now I get to try it out at a discounted price. Total there are 3 different size containers that this lotion is sold in: purse size, travel size, & regular size. The size we received this month was the purse size. Initially I was kinda bummed we didn’t receive a bigger size, but understandably, there is only so much room in the box each month. This purse size is actually great for both my regular, large purse, as well as my travel satchel. I’m already addicted to this lotion, and have found all the claims to be 100% true. Once it’s used up, I will most definitely be repurchasing it and will continue to use the mini size in my purse 🙂

First Impression: It’s always great to receive new brushes in our monthly beauty subscriptions! We receive so many that I hardly feel the need to purchase any outside of my subscription services. Luxie is one makeup brush brand that we receive on a regular basis, and for good reason too! The quality of Luxie brushes are so great. I’ve never had an issue with shedding, fraying, or the bristles becoming scratchy. I love that these 3 brushes are interchangeable and can be used in multiple ways outside of their original purpose.

Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil

“The 100% vegan pencil glides on smooth for an elevated eye look. Use along the upper lash line or water line.”

First Impression: I’m tried a lipliner from Jonteblu that I received either in a Boxycharm or an Ipsy bag, and loved it! Unfortunately, charcoal gray does not compliment my hazel eyes so well. Therefore this guy was sent over to Momma, who has crystal- blue eyes that are complimented beautifully with gray eyeliners!

 

Ofra
Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Verona

“One-step, full lip color that does not feather. These vibrant colors will give you a vivacious new look. They are creamy and soft in texture, moisturizing the lips and creating a long lasting lipstick effect.”

First Impression: Another product that I was so excited to receive this month! I have always wanted to try out this cult-classic but could never decide on which color I wanted to invest in (I say invest, because these liquid lipsticks cost just about as much as the gas in my car). This formula is so comfortable and wearable, you almost forget you are wearing lipstick. To compare, this liquid lipstick is similar to Girlactik’s. The shade doesn’t represent itself properly when swatched, as it appears more like a brownish-taupe, but on the lips it appears to be more of a neutral-mauve. Also, Verona is a new shade release to Ofra’s liquid lipstick collection.
