Empties! Vol. 2

It’s about that time again! Here’s a bunch of products that I have used up within the past couple of months since my last Empties! I’ve been trying to be a little better about focusing on finishing one product before moving on to the next but it’s been a bit of challenge!

Will I repurchase? Keep scrolling to find out 🙂

REVLON
ColorStay Pressed Powder in Translucent

I initially picked this powder up because of the ColorStay Foundation, which is one of my all time favs, but after trying this out for a while I’ve decided that I’m not impressed. I thought it would help with the longevity of my foundation, but honestly, I didn’t notice a distinct difference in wear time.

Would I repurchase? Not likely; I’ll just stick to my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

NYX COSMETICS
Double Stacked Mascara Base & Top Coat

This mascara is actually a part of a duo that promises dramatic, luscious-looking lashes in it’s 3-step method. I picked this up on a whim when my local Target was getting ready for the summer collections, so nearly everything was marked down 70 – 80%. First of all, 3-steps to applying mascara on an everyday basis gets old pretty quickly. Second of all, the reason why you don’t see the other mascara is because it’s been thrown away in the trash a long time ago. The fibers were suppose to help lengthen your lashes to give a false lash effect, however, the fibers were not of a liquid substance but were instead made of nylon. The nylon fibers irritated my eyes so badly, I had to rinse my eyes immediately. Alone, the base/top coat mascara applies pretty well, but I do not think it is worth the $15.00 price tag.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely not… Definitely a HARD PASS.

ELF COSMETICS
Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer

I’m not sure if it is just me, but this eyelid primer didn’t live up to it’s OG hype. I do have obnoxiously oily eyelids, so when a product can survive through the oils I know it’s a true winner. But honestly, the results were the same with or without the primer.

Would I repurchase? No; Save your money & buy Milani’s instead.

CLEAN & CLEAR
Morning Burst Detoxifying Facial Cleanser

Both me and the Boyfriend were using this facial cleanser almost every other day & still didn’t see a dent in it. It took a couple of months to finally finish it! I preferred to use this cleanser in the shower when I am getting ready for the day, because it truly does “wake you up”. The tiny beads burst when activated and helps you to deep clean your skin without stripping it. My skin feels refreshed, tight, and clean after using this, & looks amazing.

Would I repurchase? Yes, but we have to use up some other products that are already opened first before repurchasing this one.

PRIVAI SKINCARE
Matte Moisturizer

I received this moisturizer in an Ipsy Bag a couple of months ago and have finally finished it up! I like the formula because it’s lotion-based, which is great for my oily-skin, and dries down quickly. Overall, I don’t think it made a huge difference in keeping me completely matte throughout the day but my skin seemed to enjoy it!

Would I repurchase? Not sure; This moisturizer is pretty expensive ($30.00) for only 1.7 fluid ounces. I may purchase a travel size in the future if I want to see if it is worth it.

HERBAL ESSENCES
Dry Shampoo, White Strawberry & Sweet Mint

If you are looking for a hair product that is technically a hair perfume… then look no further. If you are looking for a dry shampoo that doesn’t give you white streaks or leave your hair filled with grime… then you’ve come to the wrong place, my friend. I might have enjoyed this product more if I was a blonde, but needless to say, I’m not a huge fan.

Would I repurchase? Nope; I’d rather buy Batiste.

REVLON
ColorStay Concealer

Again, I was super excited to give this concealer a try because of how much I love the ColorStay Foundation, but after wearing this concealer in both the winter and summer months, I have decided it’s not a great fit for me. Under my eyes, I noticed a lot of creasing, but even worst, no matter what powder I used to set it with, everything seemed to cling to it.

Would I repurchase? No, definitely not a fan.

BATH & BODY WORKS
Aromatherapy Sleep Body Lotion, Black Chamomile

I will say, this lotion didn’t make me go to sleep any faster or help me sleep throughout the night any better than usual, but I did love putting it on before I went to sleep for the scent alone!

Would I repurchase? Yes, but only when B&BWorks has one of their sales.

COVERGIRLClump Crusher Extensions Mascara

I didn’t like this mascara for my top lashes because it didn’t add the volume that I like, but I love this for the bottom lashes! The plastic bristles help separate and define my lashes. This mascara is also great for helping to comb through the lashes after applying mascara!

Would I repurchase? Yes; I’m already missing it terribly… purchasing again, as well as some backups!

MARIO BADESCU
Special Cucumber Lotion

The Special Cucumber Lotion is suppose to be suited for those with combination to oily skin types. I was pretty excited about this product because of how reputable Mario Badescu Skincare is, but honestly, I didn’t see any life changing differences in my skin overall. I still produced a good amount of oils throughout the day & still got breakouts.

Would I repurchase? No; I’ll stick to Witch Hazel, which is significantly cheaper & more effective!20180819_135932.jpg
MILANI
Make It Last Setting Spray

This was actually featured in my last Empties, so clearly I enjoy this product more than I thought! I don’t necessarily see a difference with longevity, but I do continue to repurchase it because of how it helps to melt everything together.

Would I repurchase? Yes; Affordable & worth it!

PHYSICIAN’S FORMULA
Butter Bronzer

I think this is my 3rd repurchase of the Butter Bronzer. It’s highly hyped up for a reason. It’s beginner-friendly, as you really can’t go overboard when applying it. The finish is a soft matte that blends beautifully into the skin. I continue to repurchase the original shade, as it suits my fair skin in the colder months, but honestly, I need to pick up the next shade up for the hotter months when my skin is a little more tan.

Would I repurchase? For sure; This is a staple in my collection!

As always, thanks for stopping by & until next time…

Sincerely,

Lee.
