For those that are not familiar, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that cost $10.00 each month. You get 5 travel size items that can be either beauty, skincare, hair care, or nail care related. If you are interested, you check out Ipsy here or go check out what products I received last month!
This month’s glam bag is by far my favorite and will be used regularly 🙂 Keep scrolling to see the products I received in this month’s August’s Ipsy Bag!
Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm
“Watermelon is the star ingredient in this lightweight balm and it’s packed with vitamins A, C, and E which help hydrate, brighten your complexion, and regenerate your skin cells. Aloe vera and cucumber work together to calm inflammation and reduce redness. White tea extract protects your skin cells from damage.”
First Impression: This moisturizer is supposedly catered to oily-skinned girls like myself, but honestly, I couldn’t tell if there was any noticeable differences compared to my regular Olay daily moisturizer. I will say… this moisturizer smells like Watermelon Jolly Ranchers 🙂
Lip Fondant in Girl Crush
“The mousse-like texture goes on smooth and feels so light on your lips. It’s long-lasting, non-drying, buildable, and smudge-proof-everything.”
First Impression: This is such a beautiful orangey-red liquid lipstick! The consistency is comparable to Colourpop’s Matte-X collection and is surprisingly comfortable with no transfer!
Rose Gold Blusher Blush
“It’s not just for blush! The brush head shape makes it great for blending your highlighter, bronzer, and contour products. The synthetic bristles are so soft and light, yet pick up powder pigments with ease.”
First Impression: Unless you have an unusually small face, this brush isn’t the tool I would necessarily pick for blush. It disperses the product nicely but is just too small/precise for blush – in my opinion. My suggestion is to use this brush for highlighting, since it can pack on pigments or loose powders nicely with precision.
Billion Dollar Brows
Mini Universal Brow Pencil
“This genius brow pencil comes in one universal shade that works for almost every skin tone and hair color. The smooth formula glides on and looks just like real hairs, so you get natural-looking, filled in brows.”
First Impression: I don’t think this eyebrow pencil is a run-out-and-go-it kind of product, meaning it’s not really something I see myself going crazy for. I can see how this shade could be considered universal for some, but it’s even a little too dark for myself, as a brunette. The one qualm I have with this eyebrow pencil is that even with it being retractable, it still comes across dull & isn’t precise enough. Sadly, I wasn’t blessed with full brows, so filling in my rather small eyebrows is a challenge especially getting a crisp line at the tail. The struggle is real.
False Lashes Mascara in Extreme Black
“This mousse-like, thickening formula fattens up lashes instantly for a fluttery, feathery effect. It’s flake-proof, smudge-proof, and long-wearing. We’re obsessed with how dramatic the pigmented, inky carbon black makes our lashes look.”
First Impression: I’m going to do a more in-depth review on this mascara later, but so far my first impression is that I am not impressed. Stay tuned 😉
