Living & working in metro Atlanta has its many perks… Commuting, is not one of them. And if you have ever lived, or even visited Atlanta, you know the traffic is the worst.
I currently work about 45 minutes to an hour away from my home. After work, the last thing I want to do is sit in traffic. Am I right? While my carefully crafted spotify playlist helps give me a much-needed boost in the morning, it just simply doesn’t cut it for my drive home. For the ride home, I need something that not only lifts my spirits, but also something that completely distracts me from whatever happened at work.
If you haven’t jumped on the Podcast bandwagon yet… Let me introduce you. You can listen to virtually any podcast on apps or sites such as Google Podcasts, Apple Podcast, Audible, or on Spotify, to name a few. I personally love listening to my favorite podcast on Spotify. There is plenty to choose from and you can discover new podcast easily as they are all categorized (aka, OCD Heaven).
Below I have listed my current favorite podcast that I am obsessed with, and why you should be too 🙂 Enjoy!
First on the list, is of course Armchair Expert! Hosted by Dax Shepard & Monica Padman. Dax is married to the hilarious, and beautiful, Kristen Bell, and Monica is a fellow-Georgian! Dax & Monica interview fellow celebrities every Monday with the goal of getting to know their guest’s true psyche, their path in life that brought them to the present, and a little flirting inbetween! They also interview real experts (Experts on Experts) on Thursdays, which I personally love the most!
Besides listening for the pure chemistry, love, & friendship between Dax & Monica, the podcast is very entertaining & super informative. Just scroll through the episodes until you find one of your favorite celebrities or an interesting expert, and enjoy! Some of my personal favorite episodes are Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bill Hader, Hasan Minaj, Ester perel, Sanjay Gupta, & Will Ferrell.
If you love history, stop what you are doing and go listen to American History Tellers… Thank me later. Hosted by Lindsay Graham on the Wondery network. “We’ll take you to the events, the times and the people that shaped our nation; And we’ll show you how our history affected them, their families and affects you today”.
Forget everything you have ever read or heard about the history of America (looking at you American Gov). Through wars, racism, corruption, and the building of our nation, Lindsay Graham takes us through each period in our history and narrates the memoirs of those that lived during that time. Even for those that aren’t head-over-heels for history, the gripping narration will have you hooked before you know it!
