Hi everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend 🙂 It’s been awhile since my last review & wear test, so today I thought we should review Becca’s Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation & putting it’s claims to the test!
I am always on the hunt for a good bargain, especially when it comes to purchasing makeup! I’m constantly looking for good deals at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Glambot, Hautelook, & Nordstorm Rack. I found this found this foundation on one of my successful trips to TJ Maxx for only $10.00 each!!!
Without further adieu, let’s get into the review!

Shade Range
On Becca’s website, there are a total of 20 shades in the shade range, which isn’t too bad but could be better. The shades I have are Sand & Porcelain, solely because those were the shades available at TJ Maxx. If I were to re-purchase this foundation, I would purchase Shell & Sand, because I have more neurtal to yellow undertones. Sand matches me pretty well right now, but I think Shell would match me toward the colder months.
Porcelain – Ivory beige, pink undertones
Shell – Fair Beige, neutral undertones
Sand – Pale beige, yellow/golden undertones

Packaging
I personally love when my foundations are in a squeeze tube, because there’s less risk of me dropping & breaking it. Obviously, it’s not as aesthetically pleasing as a frosted glass bottle. But I know myself far too well to be trusted with anything glass related! Is anyone else accident-prone??
Application
I applied the foundation on the left side of my face with my RealTechniques Duo-Fiber Brush & applied it with an EcoTools EcoFoam Facial Sponge on the right side. Most of my foundations apply beautifully with my RT brush, but because this formula is dryer than most, I found the dampened sponge to apply the foundation better. Though it really didn’t show through in my pictures, the brush side came across a little streaky, whereas the sponge side gave a more airbrushed- blurred look. To the touch, there is no left-over tacky feeling from the foundation & actually feels powder-like. Also, I chose not to prime or powder my face, just to simply eliminate any other outside variables & because of the micro-powder claims. My bronzer & blush blended really well on top of the foundation, even without it being set with any face powders.

Right side applied with sponge
Wear Time
I wore the foundation from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, so 8 hours total. From 11:00 am to about 2:00 pm, my foundation was still very matte and my oils hadn’t come through. There were spots where the foundation had already rubbed off, such as at the tip of my nose & from where my glasses sit. The pores on my cheeks were still very blurred, considering I didn’t have on a primer & just the foundation alone!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I am quite impressed with this foundation & how it wore throughout the day. I have very oily skin, enlarged pores, & live in a super humid environment & this foundation stood strong through all of those elements! I will say, this foundation would probably sit better with some kind of hydrating primer or intense moisturizer. I’m still shocked that I made it through most of the day without powder or the need to blot!! For me that is incredible. My oils did finally come through right around 4:30 pm, which is not bad at all. On most days, I am oily by 12:00 pm. The only con with this foundation is the price. At $42.00 you get a little more than 1 fluid ounce of product. However, I am always seeing Becca Cosmetics at TJ Maxx, so if you are interested in trying out this foundation keep looking for it in stores like TJ Maxx or wait for a holiday sale so that the price is discounted! So, all-in-all, I’m giving this foundation two thumbs up & would recommend to anyone who has oily skin.
Have you tried Becca’s Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation? If so, what’s your thoughts? Did you love it or did you hate it? Let me know down below in the comment section!
Sincerely,
Lee.
