For this particular day, my cocktail of choice for primer was Touch In Sol’s Poreblem Prime Essence & Urban Decay’s Optical Illusion Complexion Primer. I apply the Poreblem Prime Essence first, as it has a light consistency, followed by the Optical Illusion Primer due to it’s thicker texture.
After letting my primers sit for a few seconds, I then apply my Thrive Causemetics Buildable Blur CC Cream in the shade Light. I love this CC Cream for the cold, winter months because it helps bring life back to my skin & gives me a glow-from-within kinda look. My concealer of choice is Loreal’s Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer in the shade Oatmeal. I love this concealer year-round because it doesn’t budge, smudge, or fudge 😉
No matter the primer or foundation, I always set my base with a loose setting powder. Today I am using Lancome’s Long Time-No Shine Setting Powder in Translucent. I’m convinced this setting powder is magical. Every trace of shine is mattified once this powder is applied. Magic. For bronzer I used NARS Sun Washed Diffusing Bronzer in the shade Laguna. I love this bronzer because it’s user -friendly; meaning, no matter how heavy-handed I may be, this bronzer will never look like I’ve gone overboard. Following my bronzer, I used Essence’s Satin Touch Blush in the shade Satin Love. This blush is not only super affordable, but it’s also blendable & creamy in formula. To finish up the base, I went in with none other than Essence’s Pure Nude Highlighter in the shade 10 Be My Highlight. Look no further for a natural, subtle highlighter that doesn’t emphasize texture or break the bank.
As for the eyes, I have recently been reaching more towards my OG Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette. It’s one of very few in my collection that offer a good cool-toned neutral eye-look. For this look, I reached for only two shades: Almond Truffle for the crease & Satin Sheets for the lid. For mascara, I used 3 mascaras (which is excessive, I know) but all 3 for different purposes. First, I used Urban Decay’s Subversion Primer mascara to help with volume, then applied 2 coats of Essence’s Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara for my top lashes only. For my bottom lashes, I used my tried & true Wet’n’Wild’s Mega Length mascara for precision & lengthening. Lastly, for my eyebrows I used MAC’s Eye Brow Styler in the shade Spiked & followed by Colourpop’s Brow Boss Gel, to help give my unfortunately thin eyebrows a bit more volume.
To finish off the look, I used Laura Mercier’s Lip Liner Pencil in the shade French Fuscia, aka the perfect pink-berry shade, & Hank & Henry’s Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Petal Pusher. I love this combination for a bold, yet wearable look in the winter season.
What’s your favorite go-to makeup look for this winter?
Sincerely,
Lee.
