Welp, it’s official… We are officially members of the Parents-To-Be Club!!

I was initially pretty hesitant about sharing the news just because this is such a personal journey and I am a very private person. But then I started to think how quickly 9 months can fly by and didnt want to miss a thing! So, I figured documenting this journey for others could be helpful in some way, but also a way for me to look back on this time & reminisce a bit.

As of this week, I am 17 weeks pregnant. We are officially in the 2nd trimester & symptoms have finally started letting up a bit. The 1st trimester for me was hell, to say the least. While I never had morning sickness, I was nauseous every day at noon like clock work. I wasnt able to eat most foods during that time and ended up losing close to 15 to 20 pounds. If I wasnt suffering from nausea, I was in debilitating pain from migraines. I have suffered from chronic migraines my entire life but was able to at least take an injection to keep them at bay. However, as you may have guessed, my injections are not FDA approved for pregnant women in the states. Luckily both the nausea & the migraines have subsided tremendously since about the 15 week mark. I also didnt have a lot of energy for majority of the 1st trimester and would pass out during my lunch break & after I got home from work at 5:00 pm. Speaking of passing out… The first time I passed out in my 1st trimester was so terrifying! According to my doctor, some women experience a sudden drop in blood pressure throughout their pregnancy but it is especially common in the 1st. Luckily I figured out that bending over was my trigger and I now prevent that as much as possible.

We found out last week that we are having a BOY! I, along with several others, was convinced it was going to be a girl but after seeing the ultrasound photo… there is no denying it! I am kinda relieved that it is a boy because I have heard boys are much easier than girls, but then again everyone is different! We will just have to see how it goes!
